" A colleague and myself had business in Guardbridge and through Google we found Rufflets. Not cheap, but certainly not expensive. Everything was to a high standard, and the restaurant was excellent. We had very early starts which normally would mean a continental breakfast. However, due to shift patterns, chef was able to provide us with a cooked breakfast both mornings which was most welcome.
Home made shortbread in the rooms was fantastic. I look forward to returning with the family for a short break some time soon. "

" Rufflets Country House hotel is a haven of tranquility and our ideal spot for a break away from busy lives. The peace and quiet is enhanced by birdsong, especially lovely at this time of year in the gardens. We enjoyed dining in the restaurant that overlooks the garden then relaxing either outside on the terrace or inside as the sun went down, cocktail in hand!
An annual treat not to be missed. "

" Very pleasant 2 night stay. Warm welcome from reception staff on arrival and personally shown to our room. Tasteful decor throughout the hotel and the bedroom was to a very high standard especially the spacious bathroom. Nice touches included the 'do not disturb' teddy and homemade shortbread. Public areas have lots of comfortable seating and in better weather there are lovely gardens to wander through. The food at dinner was of a very high standard and the service smooth and efficient.
Judging from conversations I overheard many of the guests were repeat visitors and I can see why. "

" My wife and I had a two-night Winter Warmer break at Rufflets where we enjoyed every minute of our stay. All members of staff we encountered were helpful, friendly, courteous, polite and knowledgeable. During a quiet spell after dinner I had a discussion with Matthew about the merits of the hotel's wide range of single malt whiskies. Although I knew what I wanted, I was impressed by his deep knowledge of Scotland's national drink, and he offered suggestions about brands I might try the following evening.
The restaurant menu was varied and the food exceptionally good. Just as we found on a previous stay at Rufflets, service by staff was friendly, prompt and efficient.
Our room was large and comfortable. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, a table and two easy chairs. The hotel even has a bed turn-down service.
The bathroom was spacious, light and airy, and included a large walk-in shower and a separate deep bath.
If you decide to check out Rufflets, you will want to check in – again and again. "
