" We were non-residents, and we ate our evening meal here.
One of our party called in to the hotel quite early in the morning to book a table for our meal that evening. He was met with a friendly and positive reception, which included an encounter with the chef.
When we arrived for our meal in the evening, the table was ready and the front of house staff were both friendly and efficient. We chose from the standard menu rather than the day's four course taster menu. All the food was good, but we agreed that the scallop starter was the star of the show. The scallops were perfectly cooked, and the remainder of the dish, which seemed deceptively simple at first, backed them up very well. Our main courses of whole Dover sole, lamb and steak pie were all good, and by the standards of the area where we usually eat out (Norfolk coast) they were very good value. We'll look for an opportunity to eat here again.

" Short wait for a table but were in a lovely lounge. However the table was in the bar area and the restaurant area had loads of tables free (only available to the hotel guests apparently). Dispute this the food was amazing. We had the duck which was excellently cooked. "
