" Fantastic local pub. Seriously good food coupled with a great atmosphere and truly friendly staff. Arrived in the isle of whithorn late and headed straight to the pub for a pint and bite to eat. Welcoming reception and it was evident straight away that this pub is a regular for locals but just as welcoming for those visiting too. Great quality and value food - couldn't finish my seafood platter as there was so much! We visited on Halloween weekend and were asked to judge the local ladies witch fancy dress 'hag' competition! Great fun and will be back again! "

" Excellent place to stay in remote part of Scotland - particularly good for solo travellers - I paid £30, the standard per person rate, and was put in a big triple room. Room was fine, big, clean and functional. I'm a light sleeper and always use earplugs - no exception here as could hear noise from pub below. Good breakfast included in the price. Lovely view across the harbour from outside, and well located for bus stops, just a few minutes walk away "

" This is just one of the most welcoming friendly pubs we've ever been to. Rooms are well maintained, the view over the harbour is very relaxing. The food and service are fantastic, we would recommend to anybody. "
