" I booked here for a meal on the 12th of Sept. I arrived 5 mins early at 6.40, greeted by a young man I was shown to my table and given a menu. By 7.05, my order wasn't taken, neither had I been offered a drink.....I left!!!!!! "

" We periodically use Melrose as a halfway house to meet up with distant friends, and the Townhouse has proved to be an excellent place to have dinner and catch up. It's not too formal, the food is very good, and the service is excellent. Recommended! "

" 2 starters, 1 puff pastry & cheese - lovely. 1 haggis Scotch egg - nothing like haggis! 2 mains, lamb cutlets - OK. Duck - lovely. 1 biscuits and cheese -OK. 2 espressos. Bottle house red. Bill £82. Nice atmosphere, perfectly pleasant. "
