The upstairs cocktail bar is a lively bar with utlra-modern decor and top end cocktails ranging from the classics to their own playful twists. It's a great place to come for an aperitif before heading downstairs to the restaurant....
.....where the nicest surprise was the sushi; some of the best I have had anywhere in the world. The boat, whilst pricey, was burgeoning with sushi and fish of all kinds and each piece was delicious. Our non-sushi-lover in our group had a cod risotto which they assured the rest of us was equally divine.
The hardest part was choosing a bottle of wine from the wine list which was even more full than the sushi boat (I recommend the red zinfandel)!
It's wonderful that Guernsey, after years of people lamenting the lack of anything modern and 'en vogue', finally has a place such as this that would not look out of place in a major city. Bravo to the team behind The Hook and may their success continue for a long time. "

" Downstairs-Sushi was better in past. Opening-Times at the door are not correct, staff maybe don't like guests that much; The sushi bar where it was possible to watch the fresh preparation has been removed. Quality-level of food going down, products from the menu are not available - finally now more pub or place to get drunk. Definitely not recommendable. "

" I had the opportunity to attend the Hook to try out their new tasting menu paired with wine. From the get-go the service was impeccable and extremely attentive. Sam and his team were able to deliver not only exceptional food, but also well balanced wines to accompany us on the journey through their menu. Favourite dish, well that was hard to say, all had their own character and flavours but I would say it would have to be the pigeon, or the foie gras sushi, or the piper's farm meat feast.... well pretty much all of it! Thank you Sam and the team again, if anyone else has the opportunity to try this out, you will not be disappointed! "
