Description

North Safari offers a 4 days winter hunt for Musk ox near Kangerlussuaq, West Greenland.

This hunt is for tough hunters, and will bring us into the real arctic winter-wilderness. It is hunting in extreme conditions with temperatures from around 0 to - 40 C. It is an adventure in the worlds “last frontier”, and even that it is winter we will stay in tent camp near the deep frozen Robinson River. We have tree tents in camp; one for our guest hunters prepared with field beds, one for the guides and a kitchen tent with a remarkable view over the terrain. The kitchen tent is heated morning and evening with a wooden stow. The sanitary side of an arctic safari are primitive; anyway, we bring a field toilet.

We will primary hunt for Musk Ox, and we will hunt by foot on a spot and stalk hunt. Depending on conditions, we are also using the ATVs to bring us into the area, and after spotting the animal, we will start a stalk on foot. You will often be close to big arctic Musk Ox when the shot has to be taken, and the last part of the hunt is ended exiting in ways that sometimes test the hunter’s nerve system! We are hunting under extreme arctic winter conditions; therefor your physical health have to be good. Normally we will be apple to take the vehicle to the dead animal to pick up meat and trophy. If that is not possible, you must be able to carry your trophy (20-40 kg) over a shorter distance to the vehicle. After approaching the lonely bull or family group, there will normally be opportunity to find support for the rifle on rocks or small hills when you are shooting.

''The Arctic Five'':
As mentioned, we will primary hunt for Musk Ox, but if the time allows there will also be possibility to hunt caribou, polar fox, polar hare and ptarmigan. If you succeed with all of the five species you have shot what we in North Safari call ''The Arctic Five''!
To be mentioned: The Polar Fox can’t be exported due to rabies risk and the caribou has not big trophy’s at this time of year – but still; ''The Arctic Five'' is ''The Arctic Five''!

We transport you to the hunting camp over the fiord ice on ATV. The distance of driving from the town is app. 45 km and then you will find yourself in the middle of the wilderness. You will then be in a safari camp that will work as center in some of your life’s greatest experiences. We offers near to 100% success on strong Musk ox bulls with good trophy or old bulls with strong boss.

We welcomes you to a cold hunt of a lifetime which requires real hunters who can take up a cold challenges. Only few places in the world you find the exclusive trophy of the Musk ox together with the possibility to shoot all of ''The Arctic Five'.
