The owners, Jamie and Wendy, go out of their way to provide customer service second to none. Need help coordinating a driver, on site masseuse, or a home cooked meal? Everything was ready including a pre-loaded house cellphone with numbers to the owners, service personnel, and even surfing lessons. If it is not already in the phone, just call Jamie or Wendy and they will help you get it with a smile.
After 2 weeks in Bali, from Sanur through Ubud to Balian Beach and from Depansar to Menjangan Island, nothing beat the comfort of this Villa. The cook/maid, Putu, should be called a chef. Every meal, breakfast, dinner, and leftovers for lunch was better than any restaurant we tried on Bali.
While we visited, Mount Agung chose to erupt and close the airport. Jamie spent hours helping to coordinate alternate air travel and drivers to help our friends return through Java to Singapore. He allowed us to stay without reservation and ensured we felt both safe and cared for when our travel to Australia had to be cancelled.
I've traveled from 5 star hotels in Tokyo to Seoul to The Netherlands and have never been treated as well.
My only word of caution stems from part of the charm of the property. The main living area is open air as well as the restrooms and showers. As a result, geckos and a few bugs will share the space with you. If you are high maintenance and require perfectly sterile and spotless shine on every surface, you should look for the ever boring hotel. If you can tolerate exposure to real life, the outdoors, and an occasional cow in the front yard, this is the place for you. It feels more like visiting you rich uncle's villa than a 5 star, polished marble, and flower covered hotel.
For us, it gets no better than this! You will not be disappointed... "
