About Usada Bali
The definition of USADA is "obat tradisional" – literally "traditional medicine". It is the Balinese equivalent to Ayurveda, the word stemming from the Sanskrit term "Ausadhi", meaning medicinal plants. The unique concept behind USADA is the harmonious association of two cultures, two Eastern traditions of wisdom, those of the Indian subcontinent and the Indonesian Archipelago. While USADA refers to the age-old medicinal knowledge of the Balinese, our vision of Usada focuses on holistic health, wellbeing, and culture, offering resources for the initiation of those seeking their passage to transformation. We have created a space in which to nurture the health of mind, body and spirit, to share insights, and to experience the magic for yourself.USADA shala is a hub of inspired skill sharing. Recognizing a connection between Balinese culture and Indian tradition, we bring together Ayurvedic wisdom and the Balinese medicinal arts. We offer a variety of bountiful experiences, ranging from lectures and courses on Balinese and Ayurvedic philosophy, to dance, yoga, meditation, nutrition, martial arts, movies, and cultural arts.USADA kitchen will serve you food as medicine. The Ayurvedic cafe will be 100% plant-based, using a unique combination of spices to balance the body (doshas), bringing nourishment into focus for vibrancy and longevity. Our menu is built around an ancient philosophy for health, merged with fresh, artistically-inspired plates that boast abundance, flavor, locality, and healing using ingredients from the archipelago (Indonesian islands).
