" The airport is nice but the counter guys are the worst. I got forced to pay them $100 just because my luggage was a bit overweight. I was flying to US and prior to that I flew from Malang to Jakarta. In Malang airport, both of my luggages were each weighted 2 kilo over weight. The guys in Jakarta (I really wish I read their names), insisted that each of them are 9 kg over the limit. I heard this is not the first. My coworker also met similar issue flying out from this airport.
Also, the taxi driver will follow you for a long way after you rejected politely their taxi. My coworker said the best way to turn them down and stopped them from following you is by smiling and say "Thank you for picking me up but I am fine."
Don't fly from this airport if you don't want to deal with the corruption of the ground crew.
Also be ready to show your passport 5 times to get into your airplane. "

" Relatively small airport. You have to go through security to go into the checkin area. Then there is another security area before immigration. Depending on the gate you will need to go through another security system. So in total i had to go through 3 securities!! "

" There are a lot of restaurants around. I was able to use free wifi through out in the airport premises. Even after every 30mins, connection getting disconnected, it was really useful for me with the available wifi. Staffs are so friendly. But the personnel in the restaurant, they don't know english much. That's a bit annoying though. More sitting arrangements in the lobby will surely be a plus point in the future "
