" The staff didn’t speak English and wasn’t welcoming at all, additionally the prices are way too high for what you get. We were five people and they wanted each of us to pay 150K IDR per night (without breakfast) in a smelly 14 dorm, which they didn’t even clean before: mattresses without linen and quite dirty, there was a used towel from a previous guest hanging around. We were lucky no one else was staying in the cramped dorm. They said the WiFi isn’t working at the moment, but in the evening we had to find out that, in contrast to at least the first floor, in our room no electricity at all was working: no light, no AC (one installed on the wall). Right next to our more or less outdoor-bathroom there was a construction site. No hot water, and barely running water out of the shower at all. At least we didn’t have bed bugs. There were many mosquitoes, but happily we brought our own mosquito nets and left after one night. We bargained and payed 400K all in all for one night for five people. Apart from all this the hostel is located right at the water (but no beach) and you can reach the Paradise Bar in a few minutes walk, it’s right above the hostel. To the city center you walk 5 minutes. "

" The staff speak English, and are wonderfully friendly and helpful. When i arrived, they invited me along to the beach with their families, then took me up to a popular mountain to watch the sun set. They helped me organise a trip to Komodo and to see the waterfall. Breakfast is just toast and coffee, and the outdoor toilet and shower take some getting used to. The dorm is VERY dark and there are only bed lamps so bring a head torch. It is more expensive than other places and I can't see why, but it's also nice enough. "
