" Sri Subramaniar Thiropathai Amman Temple @ Jalan Gajah Berang, Kampong Tujuh, is estimated to have been built in 1863, in a rustic style of design.
It's the most prominent temple for the non-chitty-community. It has recently been renovated, and upon completion the Hindu temple ritual ‘Maha Kumbabishegam’ was performed on 11th December 2005.
The temple has 2 main deities which are known as Lord Thandayuthapani and Goddess Thuropathai. The main deities are accompanied by others deities such as, Sri Ganesha, Lord Shiva with spouse goddess Visalatchi, Sri Krishnan, Sri Hanuman, Sri Kamatchi, Sri Bairavar, Sri Aravan, Sri Katteverayan, Sri Periyachi, Lord Nadarajan, Sri Nagar and the 9 planets (navagraha).
Since the temple has two main deities, two separate festivals are conducted for both deities during the passage of a Hindu year. The festival for Lord Murugan, the God of war and courage, is celebrated on Vaigasi Visagam in June, whereas for Goddess Thuropathai,
a month-long festival for the Goddess Thuropathai celebrated in Tamil month of Adi. The festival is culminating with a sacred fire-walking ceremony (Timithi), participated by pious ‘Shakta’ devotees. "

" irresponsible members n followers..parked their bloody cars any place they like..buses come by bringing devotees but did not off engine just keeps engine running for 30mins. it's inconsiderate bus driver have no respect for the flat residents he only want to keep the bus cool for the passengers.
hate it when there's prayers or buses come by.
where cn I make a report abt these unpleasant events? "
