Today we finally paid them a visit and took In a new puppy and we couldn't be happier. " AHAR as a rescue is not a place I would recommend to anyone. While they started out in the past decently enough. the current rate of animals take in is too high. home checks are not done, follow up on animals is not given, questions on their Facebook are deleted and people blocked.There is no transparency in this rescue toward their main sponsor, Joe public and questions how the funds are spent go unanswered or are responded to with bullying..Sick animals are treated on the couch of the owner, where a very ill little donkey died a slow death surrounded by a chicken, a duck and a small sick puppy.Avoid this place at all costs.And Deirdre? I have never stolen anything. as a matter of fact there is no investigation at all, it's just another thing you are making up..try to stick with the facts. "

" My experience at AHAR was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the place and they do soooooo much for the animals. I'm 12 and I'm an animal nut and totally against animal cruelty and to be somewhere and with people that fight against it was truly fantastic. All the dogs there were so eager for love and attention I just wanted to go to each one and give them a huge and long cuddle. :)
I've been riding since I was 7 and to see the amount of horses that they had rescued was phenomenal!! I would just love to go there every weekend but I'm all the ways down in Cork and it breaks my heart that I can only go there when I'm passing or close.
Well done to everyone who works there. Hello to Susan and Julie. I hope you're getting on okay. Keep up the brilliant work guys and I can't wait until I can get back up to ye again.
