If you are coming on a weekend then booking is pretty essential as they don't have many covers. High point was the veggie dishes which were really well done. "

" What can I say about the Oarsman??? We had the most delicious lunch here and nothing disappointed us. The atmosphere in this establishment is something you notice straight away and there's a real feeling of welcome and such a good vibe. It's an olde Worlde pub that simply does great food. Their desserts are scrumptious. I had a pear and almond tart. ( lovely combination ) and the pastry was superb. Whoever the chef is knows what's what so you should hold on to him or her. The flavours in our main meal were delicious. Definitely best restaurant in Carrick on Shannon and we tried MANY. Keep up the good work. Don't miss out on this great Restaurant.👍 "

" Reliably good every time we return. Generous portions- beware! And you need to book really as always busy. Food is good. They're so good with kids and were really kind to give them ice cream with each of their names written in choc sauce on plate, amazing! "
