" Good hostel in the old part of town. The rates are really high. For that amount of money i would expect a single room with a shower. Nice atmosphere. Friendly and helpfull staff. "

" Nice cosy hostel for a fair price. Expect a homely and special hostel that is more a home than a normal hostel. We loved the birds, the cats and the turtoises and the owner Ramzi. Has a roof terrace, kitchen and personal 'museum'.
Located conveiniently in the old city and offers free coffee on the house all day long. Ramzi is full of stories even though his english could be better. The rooms are quite spacious and the whole place has a lot of soul and a relaxed vibe to it.
10 out of 10.. would visit again!!! "

" I kinda had a bad feeling before I went to the hostel just from the email exchanges and almost volunteered at another one but decided to just do this one, against my better judgement. I was a volunteer there for week. I observed him making another volunteer write a review while he watched. He had me write a good review about him on another website but now that I left I am writing the truth here. We felt really uncomfortable there and around the owner Ramzi. He would talk about things that I wouldnt want to discuss with a stranger such as menstruation and asking me how much I weigh. Two girl guests came one of the nights I was volunteering alone and we're concerned about being alone there with him. They asked me if I felt comfortable there and if it was safe. I found it interesting that even people who had just arrived seemed to get a bad feeling about the place. several people I talked to all agreed that the vibe at the hostel is really creepy. Plus he has cameras everywhere.
I had planned to stay longer but decided to leave early because of feeling so uncomfortable.
He doesn't speak English well so communication was very hard. He would tell me to do something and then when I did it, he would get mad and say that that is not what he said to do. He would flat out lie to me. The cleanliness of the hostel is not good at all and feels very claustrophobic. The bathrooms were disgusting. I stayed at another local hostel and found the price to be cheaper than what Ramzi was charging at his hostel and you get a lot more perks, like breakfast, cleanliness, and a good atmosphere. He even told me he gets a lot of people booking the hostel and showing up and then wanting to cancel their reservation and go to a different hostel. That's a huge red flag! I would be wary of this place, especially lone female travelers. "
