Emergency Operation Center( EOC) as the name indicate the center which helps in operating with any kind of emergency which is mostly natural and created by human beings too. It is a central command and control facility responsible for carrying out the principles of emergency preparedness and emergency management or disaster management functions at a strategic level during an emergency, and ensuring the continuity of operation of a company, political subdivision or other organization. It is a part of an international organization which have its branches all over the world including mostly all the countries. As in today date no country is untouched by the disaster
The common functions of EOCs is to collect, gather and analyze data; make decisions that protect life and property, maintain continuity of the organization, within the scope of applicable laws; and disseminate those decisions to all concerned agencies and individuals.

District Emergency Operation Center ( DEOC) L&S— Lahaul Spiti is the one of the tribal district of state H.P. It is tribal area because of its tough life surviving condition and remaining from the rest of the district due to heavy snow fall almost for about 5 to 6 months. As by knowing the nature and climate of this district it is easy to understand the type of disaster which can occur here or occurred in past time. So by the need and demand of the district due to occurrence in hazardous zone DEOC established here on 2017 although it took time but finally it is now in working condition by 24x7 open system. Although there is major challenges in front of it and day by day its challenges increasing as winter coming. Main challenge which hinder this center to work properly is communication sources. As all work of this center is dependable on the communication because gathering of data from all the department of the district, making reports, inform to administration and to the higher authority is all depends on the communication. And if this source is not working properly then how can this center can work. So beyond this problem if we think somewhat in social manner then we can resolve this problem too at of our level.
