At present, the coaches, numbering in hundreds and thousands, follow their own methods to train budding football players of various age-groups, which has been proving counter-productive to our country’s football performance. The FFCI has been formed by some coaches, and specialists in relevant fields who have realised the problem and are keen to evolve a sustainable solution to the problem and, thereby, bring about a quantum difference in the way the game of football is taught at the grassroots level in the country.The newer training methods, including physical, techno-tactical and psychological aspects, have undergone a vast change in world football that most of the Indian coaches are not aware of. It is here the FFCI will step in to educate these dedicated souls for the benefit of the game at every state level and, finally, at the elite professional level.
