Welcome to the School of
Water Resources Engineering

A Centre for Water Resources Engineering started functioning as an interdisciplinary group in R&D activities in June, 1983. The Centre was associated with the Departments of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering and Geological Sciences. It was attached to the Hydraulics and Fluid Engineering specialization of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
The Centre was transformed into a School in 1987. It has received recognition from both the UGC, MHRD and AICTE. The School has been offering a full time (4 semester) and a part time (6 semester) evening “Master of Engineering” course in “Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering” at Post-graduate level sanctioned by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) with an intake capacity of 18 students (Gate :13 , Sponsored : 5) for full time (4 semester) and 18 students (self sponsored) for part time (6 semester) evening, per year.

The School has national and international links with different renowned universities and research organizations as regards to collaborative programme.

The School has already carried out a number of consultancy projects with different Government and public organizations in addition to the research projects in the laboratory as well as in the field.
