About Lækjarbrekka

The housing Lækjarbrekka was built as a dwelling in 1834, by the influential Danish ship owner and merchant P.C Knudtzon. He also built a bakery and a turf house on the same property and brought the Danish baker T.D Bernhöft to Iceland to practice his trade here.\\At Lækjarbrekka our speciality is Icelandic cuisine, prepared by our talented culinary team and serverd by our excellent servents. For lunch we specialize ourselves in light, fresh dishes such as soups, salads, fresh fish and chicken. The afternoon is lightweight café atmosphere of the restaurant with tempting dishes such as snacks, sandwiches, coffee, cakes and pancakes.\\We have everything from desserts and vegetable dishes into luxurious meat dishes and fish dishes. Everyone should find something to their liking, our menus consists of, among other things, local lobster, fresh fish of the day, Icelandic wilderness lamb, and tenderloin dishes among a variety of other dishes.
