St. Christopher's School for the Deaf is located in Brown's Town, St. Ann amidst the Dry Harbor Mountains overlooking the sea which accounts for the cool climate. this school is special as it is endowed with a rich history. With 12 students, the school was established in 1943 by the late Reverend F. G. Gilby, an Anglican minister from England, and continues to be affiliate with the church. Covering over 26 acres of land, it is the oldest residential school for the deaf in the English-speaking Caribbean.
