" Room was okay but very noisy at night due to workmen on train tracks right next to hotel. Unable to sleep so went down to reception at 2.30am to ask for a room on other side of hotel and staff member just said "Sorry but hotel is in bad location". I asked 3 times for him to look on computer for another room and 3 times he gave me same response as above and then he walked away. Onsen was nice. Lifts are very slow. Breakfast for Japanese only as with everything at this Hotel. Staff can be rude if you can't understand signs in Japanese only including name on outside of Hotel making it difficult to locate originally. "

" Very nice traditional Japanese hotel. Staff was very friendly. The room was comfortable although a bit too old fashioned for my taste. The breakfast is also Japanese style without many western options. There is a great public and private onsen. Nice option in Takayama. Staff is struggling to speak English and give you sightseeing tips. I also recommend to rent bycycles in a different cheaper place. "

" The historic hotel in Takayama. I love here for one day. I missed my key when I go to spa room. The clerk is nice to help me. They also introduce the Takayama for family trip. "
