" I took my 4 year old 46 kilogram golden retriever to the Coo and Riku in Maebashi, Gunma. We asked for his nails to be cut, ears cleaned and a couple of other things. The staff took my dog into the back room where we could not see what was being done. It looked like it was the staff break room. I knew from previous experiences that my dog doesn't like to have his nails cut and that he would put up a little fight with whoever tried to cut his nails. It usually takes 3 or 4 staff members to cut his nails. It normally takes 2 or 3 to hold him and 1 to actually cut his nails. He doesn't bite; he only uses his weight to get free. As I waited for them to finish I could hear a lot of bad Japanese coming from the trimmer’s (Ishiiwa) mouth. Also as I listened I heard the trimmer (Ishiiwa) hit my dog 3 times. When the trimmer (Ishiiwa) was finished another staff member brought my dog to me. His choke chain had been turn around backwards and his breathing was very labored. I told the staff about what I had heard and also talked to the manager. After telling the manager what I had heard she went back to the back room where the trimmer (Ishiiwa) was. They both came out and apologized to me for yelling and hitting my dog and offered to return my money. It's not about the money staff should never hit a dog! "
