An exceptional museum about Japanese military history and specifically the impact of World War 2 on its civilian population. Thoughtfully designed spaces that present data and stories using appropriate media. I appreciated how many exhibits prompt the audience to consider what they've learned and try to imagine themselves in that situation. My favourite exhibits were the interviews and paintings by Osaka bombing raid survivors. A must-visit location in Osaka. "

" very disappointing place . Very little is translated into English despite that being a language that many people will understand if they are not Japanese. Hardly any exhibits of arms/armaments/uniforms or equipment.....but worse of all is the total lack of anything on what responsibility Japan had in WW2. There was nothing on their partnership with Nazi germany or the terrible things they did in the war...the whole thing is just about how the americans bombed Japan.....with no focus on why "

" It's definitely worth of visit if you already around Osaka castel because it's pretty much next door & it only costs 250Y. But as a war museum is pretty much average what I have seen in the world. Pretty much every city which was affected by the World War has a sad story like Osaka, this is Osaka's story "
