" I usually put museum as the last resort of sunny days. Though this museum could lead to a thorough view of Osaka's history, as tourist your first target should still be the beautiful Osaka castle just a few hundred meters away "

" Neat museum of Japanese history. I also saw some folks getting pictures with traditional Japanese clothing. You can see Osaka Castle from the escalator on the 10 floor from here too.
It was free when we came here on a Saturday. "

" A museum near Osaka Castle. Very informative, there was English explanation for every exhibit. The staff were friendly and helpful, a staff even bothered to explain feudal japanese currency system individually. "

" This museum is very large with many floors.
At certain levels there are interactive games with the staff.
You can also perform a "hands-on" archeology work.
It can be in the form of "puzzles" ie rebuilding a shattered vase from archeology site. Others can be arranging findings in order etc.
So you can appreciate the difficulties faced by those people looking for ancient artefacts.
There are many replicas to township, people, etc to explain history and custom of people at certain times.
It is not boring to be here and there are ample seats around.
As you go downstairs you can see breathtaking views of Osaka through the glass panels.
Downstairs there is a cafeteria. "

" The audio guide is essential if you only speak English. Decent museum which covers the history of Osaka through the ages. "

" Nice museum, with a lot of large dioramas of old Osaka. There is a moderate amount of English signage, but most signs are not translated. ¥600 for adults. "

" This is a great museum for kids. Lots of fun displays and activities. Not the best place to learn about Osaka's history in any depth. An audio guide is recommended, since there isn't much English on the displays "
