About Mildmay KENYA

Mildmay International Kenya (MIK) is a locally registered national NGO in Kenya since 2003 . Our vision is "A world where everyone with poverty and disease can have life in all its fullness" and our mission is to "Support and scale up the delivery of sustainable comprehensive health services to communities through community participation and strengthened health systems".We foster greater and meaningful involvement of our target beneficiaries, (People Living with HIV (PLHIV), youth, adolescent girls and young women, adolescent mothers living with HIV, children infected and affected by HIV, widows, Key and Vulnerable Populations and their families and the general population). We build viable, strategic, synergistic and sustainable partnerships with the Kenya government and her devolved systems, donors, local communities and other non-state actors to support the implementation of coordinated and comprehensive development programs.Mildmay International Kenya's programs are non-discriminatory, integrated, accessible and equitably implemented through a "RIGHTS" based approach (Right based and responsive to community needs, Innovative approaches, Grassroot impact, Health and community systems strengthening and Teaming with others). MIK has extensive experience in implementing community based intervention programs and has worked in several Counties across the Country. Our current Counties of implementation are Siaya, Homabay and Vihiga. Our program areas of focus are; health interventions, women & gender intervention, economic empowerment, education and capacity building, climate change & environmental management, sexual & gender-based violence & human rights and advocacy, research and health systems strengthening.
