Vision:An empowered girl and a community that supports girls to thrive.Mission:To rescue girls from the dangers of FGM and empower them with education and life skills so that they are positioned to take advantage of the opportunities of becoming self-supporting.HistoryThe organization was started by a group of champions/friends whowanted to stand up and champion against the FGM in the community and advocate for education of the girl child. They started by opening their homes to rescue 10 girls who were running away from being subjected to FGM. These girls were from Kuria community in Migori County and Maasai community in Narok County.This initiative continued and more girls kept increased every year to a point which it was overwhelming to host them in their homes. This led to the team raising resources among themselves and friends to put up a shelter/rescue centre in the community to support the growing number of girls.
