Eco-charcoal Limited is located between both Tsavo National Parks, at the foothills of Mount Kasigau, in a region which has been identified as a hotspot for biodiversity, especially forest biodiversity, by Conservation International and which is particularly under threat from slash and burn traditional agriculture and unsustainable charcoal production

The 10 hectares dryland forest sustainably produces clean, safe, organic eco-charcoal briquettes by using an innovative process in order to fight poverty effectively, reduce deforestation, land degradation and mitigate climate change.

The main objective is to transform Eco-charcoal Limited into a socially responsible, ecologically sustainable and economically viable company.

The community benefits from the project by getting job opportunities, especially for women in Kasigau, green awareness on deforestation and climate change, accessing healthy and non-toxic sustainable fuel energy for cooking and heating. Using our eco charcoal briquettes means significantly reducing indoor pollution and time-consuming for women and children instead of collecting the firewood.
