" My family stayed at Palacina for 5 nights when we first moved to Kenya. We had a very warm welcome. The staff was very friendly. The grounds were beautiful, including the wonderful swimming pool. The veranda has very comfortable seating and the food was delightful. My only complaint would be the noise of the other patrons at night. We had a penthouse suite, but we could hear every movement and noise made by those below us, making it difficult to sleep at night. "

" Shiver when I think of this hotel. The most DANGEROUS , UNSAFE, negligent and badly maintained hotel, to the point of causing grave injury. DON'T get fooled by the nice interiors. It was our biggest mistake. Checked in and within a little while the heavy wrought iron curtain rod fell off, and injured my head. There was blood everywhere, I was dizzy and in shock and the response from the management was to hurrily clean it all up and leave, offering no apology, no first aid kit and only when we asked for some help, they brought in handwash?! And surgical spirit. Other than that, nothing. The rod was put up with a makeshift kind of loop or something and just came off. There was just silence from the management, even after seeing all the bloody towels, and blood all over the floor, they just wanted to take it all away quick. Just glad it didn't fall on my kids and that I wasn't alone when it happened. And to make things worse as housekeeping was cleaning the room cos a coke bottle just fell out when we opened the mini bar, a huge lampshade fell off its stand and according to the housekeeping he couldnt fix it back cos it had no groove and had just been propped up and had to take it away, It was nothing short of a nightmare. And at night with my kids and the shaky wooden frame over the bed, I just couldn't bring myself to sleep and we checked out at 9 pm, even though we'd paid in full for the night, thinking this was just NOT worth our peace of mind. And there was no response from the management, nothing. Just silence. The most unsafe place, ever. And with the managements attitude, they just want to make money, at any cost. Very UNSAFE. "

" Lovely big self catering apartments, lovely feel, friendly staff. Nice lap pool, small outdoor pool. Probably the chicest hotel in nairobi! "

" The Palacina is a beautiful hotel!
The service was wonderful and so was the food!
The rooms are gorgeous and I loved the mosquito net around the bed; it was very romantic feeling.
Additionally the large bathroom and open shower was a great plus!
I would definitely stay there again if I was visiting Nairobi. "

" Everything about this place is simply elegant and stunning. From the high ceilings to the well dressed and all smiles staff waiting on you. Situated in a very serene place. A home far away from home setting. High in standard. They have a spa as well which has very chic room and unforgettable treatments. Tasty meals. "

" 4 years ago we had a family dinner here and had a splendid time. The food, atmosphere and service were all outstanding.
Last Friday, we had one of the worst dinners at a restaurant. There were two other tables, the rest of the place was empty. The food was shocking (calamari, red snapper and lamb curry) and clearly heated from frozen. And although there were only 6 guests: the service was awful.
A truly dismal evening and a complete waste of money. "
