The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) implements the Improved Competitiveness of National Enterprises Programme (ICONE) on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) with The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) as the key executing partner. The program focuses on providing technical assistant to enhance the competitiveness of the Cambodian economy that is increasingly interconnected and to the dynamic of its market. With the objective mentioned above, the program involves multifaceted interventions including improving the business opportunity and operation of local companies, integrating technological and digital solutions for innovation, and fostering public-private partnership. Key activities under such area of interventions comprise of 1. capacitating provincial administration to actively promote the economy (investment promotion, and digital economy), 2. Support promotional actors in strengthening services and products to improve the competitiveness of local enterprises (training, coaching, and consultancy, etc.), and 3. Strengthen the capacity of the local companies to employ modern technologies and digital solutions.
