Fishing and Tour Activities Friendly and English speaking guides with over 10 years fishing experience under their belts are available to accompany you for the following fly fishing activities: o Lagoon based fly fishing for bonefish and Giant Trevally. o Offshore fishing for pelagic such as yellow fin tuna, wahoo, and sailfish. For island or marine based tours or a combination of both, these tours can be tailor made to meet your specific need. You will be guided by one of ...our friendly, knowledgeable and English speaking tour guides for one of the following activities: o Historical tours to see some historically significant sites during the H-bomb testing days. o Cultural tours to see the various cultural activities and special places of interest. o Eco tours to see schools of dolphins and manta rays, and milkfish in milkfish ponds, and our famed bonefish. o Bird watching tours to see Christmas Island’s amazing 26 wildlife species one of which is endemic to Christmas Island (the Christmas Island warbler), and to see some of these birds in their natural habitats. o Swimming and snorkeling to see our spectacular coral and marine life. o For the day tour option for tourists coming in on the Wednesday early morning flight and flying out to Fiji in the afternoon, tours can be tailored to your specific requirements. With prior arrangement, your tour guide will meet you at the airport and take you for a guided tour and return you in ample time to catch your flight. This is a wonderful opportunity to tour Christmas Island, snorkel in our lagoons or ocean and then return home in the afternoon.

2 beachfront local bungalows and 6 double standard air conditioned rooms. Each room offers private bathroom with shower and toilet, refrigerator, comfortable beds, writing desk and chairs, and tea and coffee in the big house Maneaba, a distance from the main road and set close to the ocean with very few people to intrude upon your privacy. It is also 5 minutes walking distance to the main grocery shops, gas station and ATM machine.

Buffet Night Each Tuesday evening the Lodge hosts a buffet dinner where bookings can be made to the lodge one day in advance for those interested in joining. The BBQ dinner features freshly caught sea food (including lobster) and meat, chicken, vegetables and a wide variety of dishes from which guests can select. Beer and spirits are also available from the bar. Entertainment for the evening is a performance that you will seeing the local dancing and singing, it is the night before guests depart on Wednesday, it is our special way of thanking you for your visit to the island and to wish you a safe trip back home.

Bernie D, from France, stayed 2 weeks at Sunset Horizon Fishing Lodge. He spent most of his time fishing guide by Mike Marao, catching bonefish, travellys, trigger fish and milkfish on the fly. He also caught Giant Travellys with poppers and other lures , and Tuna, Wahoo and GTs by trolling.
