Sri Dharmaloka College currently a National School situated at Kelaniya in the Gampaha district within the Western province which consist of the largest population was establish by Rev. Yakkaduwe Sri Pangarama Maha Thera then chief of the Peliyagoda Vidyalankara Pirivena on 2nd day of October 1938.

Indeed, the 20th day of January 1942 could be cited as the golden day in the process of writing a few lines on the history of Dharmaloka College. It is on these particular days the World Scout Movement was established in Sri Dharmaloka College under the unique patronage of group leader named Mr. Ureek de Mel. Today it has a proud history of 69 years (1942 – 2011) and about to celebrate its’ 70 years Anniversary in 2012.Sri Dharmaloka Scout Group was the 3rd best scout group in the year 2003 & was the Second best scout group in the all island when selecting the best all island scout group in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007.& was awarded special merit award for the year 2008 & also Sri Dharmaloka College was the 1st place for the best community service project of all island in 2006.
