We have found that many people think they need to replace everything they own and buy more eco friendly products to lead a more conscious lifestyle. This could not be futher from the truth and this is why we believe minimalism goes hand in hand with being eco friendly. The most important R is Reduce - not reuse or recycle. Buying more and more 'stuff' doesn't make you eco friendly- buying less and putting thought into your needs and purchases does. Every product takes energy to make, and there is an impact however small. This is why we stress to our customers to buy what you need. Yes our rose gold straws are very pretty- but do you need 4 straws of the same size in 4 colours just for yourself? Think through every purchase- it's liberating when you realise how little you need to actually buy!

We've been using our bamboo straws for over 6 months and absolutely love them! They're handcrafted, made from organic bamboo and comes in fully recycled and compostable packaging- right down to no tape being used in the packing. The bamboo straws also have a much smaller manufactuing footprint than any stainless steel straw. Message us directly to get your own!

After a long wait our rose gold straws are back!! We still advocate for no straws - but if you feel you must use a straw please get one you can reuse if at all possible! It is estimated that close to 8.3 billion single-use plastic straws are discarded daily in the world. They slowly make their way into our oceans, causing irreparable damage to our shorelines and marine life. Choose wisely, single-use plastics are used one time for about 20 minutes but last over 200 years. #ecoliving #ecoconscious #conciousliving #waronwaste #saynotoplastic #sustainableliving #suckthestrawsout

Think before you sip! Refusing a straw is easy, you just have to think of ways to remember. Even we still sometimes forget - but we must all try.

It's good to see this statement being made - having said that this is part of what is expected of event organisers. As businesses, individuals and as a country we need to do better to reduce our waste - not just dispose of it properly. When mountains of garbage collapse, when homes are flooded because of blocked drains can't be the only time we care or see this problem. KISS FM Sri Lanka we are pleased to see the statement about reducing single-use plastic in your future events, please feel free to get in touch if you need any help in doing so.

This was the state of the Royal College Sports ground after the Alan Walker concert in Colombo last night. Organised by Global Sound - Media Partners KISS FM Sri Lanka, this trend has to change. The sheer amount of single-use plastic that is used will go into a landfill and remain there longer than any of us will be alive, in addition to the fact that bins have either not been available or their use not encouraged. Incredibly alarmed to see just how far we have to go in terms of awareness in the city alone... :( Part of having an event is ensuring the space is not trashed afterwards, so if anyone considered this a success, sorry but this is a resounding fail. Our beautiful rose gold smoothie straws are in!

These plants are on a strip of land that previously had garbage buried in it - as seems to be the practice of some households in Sri Lanka. Since moving in it has taken us over 4 months to clean out the garbage, set the soil and start planting - but once plants began to grow, things move pretty quickly. We have been learning a bit about soil regeneration from Kiss The Ground and Plant With Purpose and strongly believe that it is not sustainability we should all aim at, but regeneration of the soil, the water and the air. Start at home - it's really not so difficult. #soilregeneration #ecoliving #ecoconscious #beyondsustainability

Our actions are causing changes around the world that we cannot yet fathom - this doesnt mean that at some point it won't directly affect us too. This is the only planet we have, and its fast becoming inhospitable. Make an effort - none of us have any other place to go. Image credit: retainforest

Our curved metal straws are in, and this time we promise not to run out :) Unlike their single-use cousins, stainless steel straws can last for ages if you clean them properly. Make the switch and help keep plastic out of our oceans. Please message us to find out how you can order your own!

As caregivers to 6 rescue doggos and 10 cats, we used to buy a whole lot of toys. They were expensive, some toxic and more often than not we rarely ever saw them in one piece again. This is our new regime- its messy but the dogs love them, its natural and composts so easily. If you do want more ideas on keeping your pets occupied, in a safe and eco friendly way please feel free to reach out :)

A plastic toothbrush will sit in a landfill forever and release toxic chemicals as it decays. Our black bamboo toothbrushes priced at Rs. 390, are not 100% compostable as they have nylon bristles (free of BPA), but with the handle being bamboo its a lot better for the environment. A plus is that these come to us from the supplier in recycled, 100% compostable packaging! We only have a limited number so send us a direct message to get yours soon! #ecoliving #ecoconscious #conciousliving #waronwaste #saynotoplastic
