A RARE FIND!! Antique silver knife in the style of a traditional kastane sword. The pommel is a lions head. There is a makers mark or a signature visible on the blade. Ideal to keep at a desk as a paper knife or as a collectors item. Size 6" in length. From colonial 1900-1950 period.

Antique "Piha Kaetta" Dagger for sale. Intricately carved grip. The silver forte deeply embossed and engraved in characteristic motifs. The heavy single edged blade elaborately inlaid with silver vine motifs. From late 18th Century to early 19th Century period. Size 11.5" (almost 1ft)

Spotlight on Sri Lankan treasures from around the world - Sri Lankan Cannon. Circa 1745 (Dutch Period) now at Rijksmuseum Amsterdam.
Built from bronze, silver, gold, rubies and wood, salutes were fired from this cannon to welcome the visitors of the king of Kandy. Kandyan king's symbols are found on the barrel: a sun, a half moon, and the lion. The Dutch seized the splendid cannon during a military campaign in 1765. They presented it to Stadholder-Prince William V for his collection of rarities in Hague, Netherlands.

Spotlight on Sri Lankan national treasures from around the world-The Statue of Tara deity(8th Century)found in the early 1800s somewhere between Trincomalee and Batticaloa on the eastern coast of Sri Lanka on display at the British Museum😢😢
It was given to the British Museum in 1830 by then former British Governor of Ceylon. This statue looking at its qualities and fine craftsmanship and being a Hindu deity was probably done by the great South Indian artisans living in Sri Lanka under the patronage of our monarchs. Statue is 143cm in height.
