Description

Started in 1969 as Globe Mirror Industries (Pvt) Ltd, the Globe Group carries a rich heritage of supplying high quality glass and mirror products to the Sri Lankan market, as an importer, a stockist, a distributor and a processor. The glass business, renamed as Globe Glass in May of 2015, has two modern glass processing plants in the capital city of Colombo, which had many firsts, including an ultra-modern tempering plant with ISO certification, as well as Saint Gobain process certification. Apart from providing laminated glass for interiors, the Company, in its quest for energy-saving, eco-friendly solutions is setting up a double-glazing glass unit to service the Sri Lankan market. Working closely with architects, builders, contractors and end users, the business has grown in leaps and bounds, due to its ability to work as a wholesaler across multiple projects, as effectively as providing a ready retail solution for individual customers. The supplier relationship with world leaders has also strengthened over time, be it The Guardian Glass Group or St.Gobain for Float Glass, to GCC and Ozone for accessories.

The Company has also recently opened a concept glass studio, Studio Globe Glass, to provide the creative edge in the use of glass in building design, as also in interior solutions. While providing inputs to leading architects and consultants, the Studio further executes custom orders for glass applications and glass furniture using different types of glass, including stained glass.

With its strong presence in the building industry since 1969 through its flagship Company Globe Glass, the management has now begun to apply its decades of experience in this industry, to enter the segment of high quality property development. Currently, suitable properties are being sought for joint development or outright purchases, for both residential and commercial purposes, to further their ambitious growth plans in Sri Lanka. Likewise, Globe Glass and their newly set-up property development arm, Globe Grandeur, are now being consolidated under Globe Group, to drive the management’s vision forward.
