The House
Kirala, a contemporary 5 bedroom property sits proudly on the shore of Bolgoda lake. With stunning views of the lake, the house provides a perfect base for your event, an introduction for your guests before continuing onto the gardens. The main reception area, with it’s extensive glass sliding doors, invites the outdoors in, pulling in the rich green foliage, sparkling blue waters and the sweet scent of the garden’s tropical flowers.
The Gardens
Recently resculpted by Bevis Bawa's protégé the garden consists of 3 tiers of manicured lawns that graduate down to the lakeside. The waterside mangroves provide a romantic setting for intimate weddings, special celebrations or sophisticated soirées. Depending on the size of the event, a host can choose to utilize one or more of the tiers to create an occasion with its own unique atmosphere.
Ceremonies amongst the Thambili, Arailya and Kirala trees, corporate cocktails or a candlelit banquet - The multi tiered garden allows you a range of hosting options and provides the perfect location for your event.
Events
The terraced layout of the property allows any party size to be catered to and invites you to take advantage of the flow of the gardens, to allow the celebrations to naturally evolve, moving from relaxed sunset drinks and canapés with a lake view to the more formal proceedings at the water's edge. Whether making a small, private function with a few friends or colleagues, special, or creating a sense of intimacy at a larger reception, the multi tiered garden allows the property to naturally adjust to your event.
If so required, the team at Kirala will work with you to lighten the burden of planning your special event. We only work with leading industry professionals and are happy to recommend and connect you to expert event organisers, florists, decorators and caterers who have worked on the property so you can focus on relaxing and celebrating with your guests.
We are also happy to provide air conditioned rooms for host groups and wedding parties to use to prepare themselves on their special day.
