" More than 190 people are now thought to be missing after Monday's ferry disaster on Lake Toba, on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The number, revised up from 130, is three times the number of passengers the ferry was licensed to carry.

Lake Toba, the world's largest volcanic lake, was busy with tourists celebrating the annual Eid holiday when the ferry sank in poor weather. Many victims are thought to have been trapped inside the vessel, police said.

Indonesia's national se...arch and rescue agency said only 18 survivors had been found, all within hours of the tragedy. Three bodies have been recovered.

Authorities say the boat operators didn't hand out tickets so there are no records of who was on board.

" Always Becareful to avoid such tragedies, Becareful when you travel to a foriegn country " ~Kind reminder from your trusted travel Partner ~

Planning a trip to Vietnam and keen to explore some of its most spectacular scenery? Here’s why you should go now, Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park lies in the Quang Binh province of north-central Vietnam and is rich with natural wonders, most of which have only recently been discovered. So recently, in fact, that it wasn’t until 2003 that the Park was listed as one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites.

The Best Time to Visit Phong Nha?... August and April !!

~The Biggest Cave in the World~ Phong Nha Ke Bang national park is home to the most majestic cave systems in the world – some over four million years old ,Over 170 new caves have been discovered since 1990 alone and with a whopping 80% of this region still yet to be explored. In 2010, Debs and Howard fully completed the exploration of Hang Son Doong -- what is now officially the largest cave passage on the planet, The six-day trek through " Hang Son Doong" is by all accounts majestic.

~Paradise Cave~ A truly spectacular cave, the first 1km can be seen by anybody, either on a tour or by visiting the cave by yourself. The 7km trek into the cave is one of the most incredible days you can have in the area but is only available as a guided tour.

~Dark Cave~ Dark Cave is for the more adventurous and is a very muddy excursion. You’ll definitely want to bring a change of clothes with you and a towel if you go. The cave is reached via a very short kayak or a zipline. There are smaller ziplines and some family activities available as well, the price of which is included in the cave tour.

A Little About "Mt Rinjani"

-Altitude- Mountain Rinjani is 3,726 meters above sea level.

-Eruption Record- First Eruption : 1.275 Last Eruption : Sep 27th, 2016 Current Status : Normal

Mount Rinjani is the second Highest mountain in Indonesia. Based on the information height of mount Rinjani once reached approx; 4,000 m above sea level. Mt. Rinjani climbing is one of main tourist attraction. Rinjani national park lies within the major transition zone where the flora and fauna of south East Asia makes a dramatic transition into that which is typical of Australia. The park has a rich variety of plants and animals, although they can be hard to spot due to the terrain and rain forest cover. Sometimes seen early in the morning is the rare black Ebony leaf monkey, known locally as lutung. Rusa deer are forest dwellers and are occasionally seen a long the Rinjani trek train. Also found in the forest is the leopard cat or bodok alas, palm civet or ujat and porcupine or landak. A variety of colorful birds live in the forest of the park. Perhaps the best know icon of the park is the crested cockatoo that is not found any further west of Lombok. Many of the forest dwelling animals, insects, birds, civets, and monkeys owe their survival to the wild fig tree or beringin as a provider of food and shelter. The pine-like casuarinas species, Cemara, are a feature of the grassy higher slopes. Orchids or anggrek are also a feature of the grassland areas, as is edelweiss or bunga abadi growing above the tree line, it is a beautiful icon of the park and one of the park and one of our best-know sub-alvine plants.

Lumbini Lumbini Natural Park or Taman Alam Lumbini is a Buddhist temple located at Desa Dolat Rayat, Berastagi in North Sumatra. It is a replica of “Shwedagon Pagoda” in Yangon, Myanmar. The architecture is similar to a Thai pagoda, covered in gold. It hosts an elephant statue and the door appears like an India craft.

Sipiso piso waterfall Set in the beautiful highlands of North Sumatra, the stunning Sipiso-piso waterfall is located on the North side of Lake Toba, 24 km fro...m Kabanjahe. This long but narrow waterfall drops 120 m into an impressive gorge below. This thundering waterfall is popular with visitors who come to photograph this magnificent natural wonder. Surrounded by a lush green mountainscape and with a rainbow forming at the base of the waterfall, it’s hard to imagine a more impressive subject for a photograph.

Rumah Bolon This impressive, well-tended palace complex on the edge of the village of Pematang Purba was the home of the Simalungan Batak chiefs until 1947 when the last one died. Public transport to the site is difficult, but it’s an easy stop-off on a journey between Berastagi and Danau Toba by private car. The site consists of a large main building that functioned as the king’s quarters and a harem. The buffalo skulls inside the main building symbolize the power of the chief. The remainder of the complex consists of meeting halls, assistants’ houses and rice-storage areas.

Mount Sibayak Mt. Sibayak or Gunung Sibayak is a small stratovolcano overlooking the town of Berastagi in northern Sumatra, Indonesia. Although its last eruption was more than a century ago, geothermal activity in the form of steam vents and hot springs remains high on and around the volcano.

Mount Sinabung Mount Sinabung is located within the Karo regency of North Sumatra province. The majestic Mountain with soaring heights of 2,460 meter has a total of four volcanic craters. Another great spots to view Mount Sinabung’s grandeur would be the Gundaling Hills. From this marvelous site of undulating greeneries, you can ride a horse to explore around. Perched on 1,575 meters above sea level, this wonderful place with expansive gardens is only 3 km away from Berastagi city center. The fertile volcanic soil and the cool temperature of the city make it ideal to grow fruit, vegetables and flowers. The flower and fruit market of Berastagi is a colorful heaven of fresh pick products. You will find exotic fruits and fragrant flowers in dozens of stalls. Once a year festival of fruits and flower is held to celebrate harvest season.
