::About Adnan Mahmud ::

Adnan Mahmud is the founder & CEO of LiveStories - a startup building data tools for non-technical users. Prior to LiveStories, he worked at Microsoft for over 8 years. He is also the co-founder of Jolkona, a Seattle-based nonprofit that provides mentorship and training for social entrepreneurs.

Adnan has conducted training in entrepreneurship and civic leadership in all corners of the world, including Kenya, United Kingdom, Greece, Papua New Guinea,... Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Chile, Bahamas, Australia, and Guatemala.

Adnan draws upon his own experience of launching and growing Jolkona - a US-based non-profit organization to educate and inspire young people to be more community in their actions. He has led interactive sessions to design non-profit organizations, create compelling mission statements, build transparency into organization structure, and develop sustainable operational plans.

Congratulations to Sachira de Silva for winning the 2nd Season of කෝටියක් වටින අදහසක් - Kotiyak Vatina Adahasak by Mobitel.

Sachira's invention of a sustainable waste management and recycling technology was judged the winner among the 4 finalists at the finals that was held on the 15th of June 2018.

Chaminda Kandamby who is the founder of Superb Business Solutions which is one of the startups of the 2017 Spiralation Cohort was placed 4th in the program and we congratulate him on his achievement.

"Spiralation" - Tech Startup Support Program, an initiative of the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka, the apex ICT institution of the Government of Sri Lanka focuses on supporting new technology ventures. Budding Entrepreneurs with a vision of launching their ‘Technology Startup’ and seeking assistance to foster their ICT business ideas are targeted.

A subsidy of 75% of the total project cost or up to a maximum of LKR 1,000,000.00 available for tech start-ups with new innovative ideas/...concepts. In addition, selected applicants will receive other benefits including mentoring, capacity development training, global and local exposure, etc.

New start-ups (registered or looking to register) and registered companies which are less than 2 years (calculated as of application date) in existence are eligible to apply. The proposed company should have a minimum of two directors/promoters and should be limited to ten employees.
