" We stayed at the Eco Resort in March 2017 for one night, mainly due to its proximity to Wilpattu National Park. The "resort" is essentially a homestay in the wilderness, with basic but clean and air conditioned rooms. However, remember that nature is around you so you might find some spiders or ants in your room (but nothing the mosquito net couldn't hold back). We were the only human guests, and unfortunately, there were some signs that the Resort's best days might be over (like an abandoned room next to us). That's a shame because the resort is really beautiful and peaceful. Twittering of birds awoke us in the morning, and there is also a small circuit around which you can walk and observe some beautiful birds. During our stay, we were cared for by a super friendly woman who helped us arrange everything - a safari through Wilpattu National Park (which wasn't our best experience btw because of the lack of animals) and bicycles for a short tour around the area on the next day. On the first evening, the woman also served us a banquet with many great variations of rice & curry (more than 8 different curries), fresh juices, and, fortunately, beer ;-). Breakfast was local style and enormous as well. Indeed, we had one of our best dining experiences at this place. Hopefully, it will be in higher demand during the main season. For around 30$ with meals and drinks included, it was well worth the money! "
