" මෙම ප්‍රදේශය ආශ්‍රිතව තිබූ නටඹුන් බොහෝමයක් විනාශ වී ඇත. මෙම ස්ථානයට මදක් එපිටින් පිහිටි බෞද්ධ නටඹුන් සහිත තිරුකෝනේෂ්වරම් කෝවිල පිහිටි ඉඩමේ තිබී ලැබුණු, දැනට මන්නාරම කච්චේරියේ තබාඇති ප්‍රසිද්ධ මන්නාරම් ටැම් ලිපියට අනුව මෙම ප්‍රදේශයේ ඉදිකිරීම් ක්‍රි. ව. 898-914 අතර රජකම් කළ දෙවන සේන රජුගේ පුත් හතරවන කාශ්‍යප රජුගේ යුගයට අයත් බව සිතිය හැක. එම ටැම් ලිපියෙහි අවට පිහිටි ගම් කීපයකට දෙන ලද්දාවු වරප්‍රසාද විස්තර වෙයි. එසේම "නා විහාර" හා "රක වෙහෙර" නම් එකල පැවැති සුප්‍රසිද්ධ බෞද්ධ විහාර දෙකක් පිලිඹඳවද විස්තරකෙරෙයි. එසේම මහාතිත්ථ වරාය හා අවට ප්‍රදේශය පාලනය කල පුද්ගලයින් "මහපුටු ලද්දන්" හැටියට එහි විස්තර වෙයි. "
