At That Salty Smile, we believe that surfing and time in the ocean heals minds and hearts. We aim to change disadvantaged young lives through educational and sporting opportunities, mentorship and a shared love of the ocean. That Salty Smile provide surf equipment, ocean safety classes and surf instruction to disadvantaged young people in Essaouira, Morocco. Our surf instructors act as mentors and encourage the practice of important life skills such as endurance, self-discipline and leadership through surfing, as well as create a fun and educational space for our kids to leave their worries on shore for a while. In addition to teaching young people how to surf, we create employment opportunities in the local community for instructors, who by using their instructing skills as well as working in a mentorship capacity, positively impact the Essaouira community financially, socially, and sustainably.
