We want to inspire you with our actions. We are MIOFA, the Marshall Islands Organic farmers Association, a community of passionate farmers, determined to protect our land, our source of life and prosperity into the future. We will do these through organic farming practices.
MIOFA was setup in 2015 with the guidance of the Pacific Organic and Ethical Trade Community (POETCom) to promote the adoption of organic farming practices in the Marshall Islands.
Our dream is to safeguard the integrity of the land for it is our source of food, nourishment, stability, cultural satisfaction and life. Our land is a gift bequeathed to us by our ancestors. Though not expansive, it was a valuable gift, for it gave life to all Marshall Islanders.
And so we want to gift out children with the same. As good guardians we will not use harmful chemicals and agro-practices that pollute and degrade this resource. We remain true to the principle that nature and man can work together in a way that benefits both.
We live on the frontline of the world’s greatest challenge, climate change. But we are determined to be resilient and adapt to the changes happening around us. Organic farming will help us be resilient.
