" A nice place to give a visit with your family or your girlfriend. A serene place. Visit there on Weekends to enjoy couple of shows such as a dancing lady kisses a cobra. "

" Elephants were chained up and males were left with females. The zoo was very run down too. Understandably the upkeep of a zoo must be high but it is not fair on the animals. This zoo has made me ultimately realise that I shall not be visiting a zoo again in the future. "

" It is not expensive to get in but there is a separate price for tourists (around £1). Animal cruelty is rife here. The elephants were so distressed and the cages are too small. It was interesting seeing the animals but at what extent? Some of the animals were difficult to watch as they were clearly upset. Particularly the elephants and the big cats. They were all visibly frustrated and distressed. The cats were trying to get into each others cages to fight each other. It was sad.

You can feed the hippos and the elephants and there are a few animal shows. The gardens are beautiful and the kids playground area is pretty good too. There are some awesome wooden models of dragons and other creatures that were really impressive.

it isnt a hugely busy place so its relaxing to walk around and there are no crowds. "

" If you’re in Rangoon then this place is worth a look.
The place is old but you are extremely close to the animals which makes up for the bad paths.
All the animals look content, although the Tiger enclosures could do with being bigger, they have the space to do it.
This Zoo used to have a lot more animals in but some have been moved to the new capital city Zoo.
The new Capital is not Rangoon it’s Naypyitaw. "

" One of the place that's good for holiday relaxing and bringing young kids out there. There's a show in afternoon on every weekends played by local amateur magicians and lovely animals from the zoo. "

" Good for going on weekend. There may have some shows at that time. Please feeds animals. Elephant ride, able to hire twins bike, Don't throw your waste on road. Help it clean. Don't see stupidity of other people's habbit. Food may be a little bit expensive. For your budget, bought from somewhere. "

" Nice zoo. Not best condition for animals sadly, but that is the case nearly everywhere The carnivore house from the Edwardian era is worth seeing just for the building. Admission is fairly cheap, considering this is a nice shaded place where you can walk around for a few hours. There are drinks/food stands and the ubiquitous free water jugs. "

" If you like to watch the animals' live, you can see through this place. It's good to get such a nice experience to see the animals which maybe you've been known before or not. The pics I took from that place will be surely a great taste for you. Thanks 😉 "

" The place is big. You will see animals but most of them will be monkeys. This was a great zoo while Yangon was the capital of Myanmar. The place need to be renovated. "

" A great bargain and a good way to spend a few hours. I was actually expecting this place to be very depressing, given how animals are often treated in neighboring Thailand. I was quite pleasantly surprised to find that many of the exhibits were on par with zoos in the USA. No animal in a zoo is living on cloud 9, but I do not think they are any worse off here than most other zoos. And they are not being hunted down or starving, either. The zoo is quite large, but there are plenty of trees to offer protection from the sun. They have a large number of tigers, as well as a few mammals that I had never seen before.

The most exciting find was an abandoned amusement park in the middle of the zoo, where the jungle is starting to reclaim the rides. It is very eerie and quite surreal! "
