" Myself and my husband had a very small and intimate wedding in October 2017 in Mauritius, it took me a while to source a good and reliable photography company and finally went with Backlight Studios. I am so elated that we made this decision, the energy and professionalism was on point and the end product i could not fault. I am super in love with the drone pictures, it is well worth spending the little extra for a lifetime of memories to be captured in such a unique way. Don't waste your time and look any further, you have found the perfect photographers.

" Last June we got married in Mauritius. After searching the possibilities we had we came across BackLight Studio’s.
After a few emails back and forth we had decided on a photo- and videography package.
While the experience on getting married on such a beautiful Island was very relaxing, the moment the guys from BackLight came in to the room everything changed. And I mean this in a very positive way.
These guys are very energetic and do a beautiful job in making sure every little detail is taken into consideration!
They are very busy, so you have to wait a little before you see the result, however they are very clear on this.
But believe me, the video and the photo’s had our jaws dropped. Every single moment/memory of that amazing day was very well presented! "

" We flew into Mauritius and had a small elopement-style wedding (just the two of us) at Lux Le Morne. We hired Backlight Studios to photograph the wedding ceremony and then do a water-themed trash-the-dress photoshoot the day after the wedding.
On the day of the wedding Billy (the photographer) showed up around an hour and a half early so he could get some shots of us getting dressed, etc. Then he and his assistant took photos during the ceremony, and then we did some staged photos after the ceremony. Throughout all of it, Billy was awesome to work with. He was calm and reassuring (exactly what is needed on a wedding day), and knew exactly what to do, and when/where to take photos (he also knew the wedding planning people at Lux Le Morne, which was an added bonus for making things easy).
Billy and the assistant then checked the weather forecast and agreed to meet us at 10am (or 11am, I forget...) the next day to do the trash-the-dress photoshoot. Then things became very fun. We told him that we wanted 1) some shots of us in the ocean using a drone, and 2) some shots of us doing some cool stuff underwater. Billy gave us a bunch of instructions and we hopped on a SUP (wearing a suit and wedding dress) and paddled out to sea trying not to capsize the SUP and drown. Billy took his drone up into the sky and took a bunch of photos. We then came closer into land and Billy put on his wetsuit and waterproof camera housing and came into the ocean to take some closer photos that were half underwater half overwater. After we were finished there, we went to Lux’s pool and Billy had a whole bunch of good suggestions for what we could do. We did them all (jumping in the pool, trying to swim underwater holding hands, trying to do Buddha poses underwater, trying to kiss underwater, falling backwards, carrying each other) and it was *a lot* of fun. Billy definitely knew what he was doing, and had a lot of experience, ideas, and passion.
About 2 weeks after the wedding, we received 10 photos, and about 2-3 months after the wedding we received the rest of the photos. Backlight Studios was one of the biggest single-line costs of our wedding, but it was worth every cent. We love our photos (both the wedding day and the underwater ones), and when showing them to some friends they said “I wish I could get married again so I could get photos like that”.
If you’re going to Mauritius to get married, get Backlight Studios and make sure you include an underwater photography shoot with them. You will not be disappointed. "

" Excellent sense of beauty and style from these guys! We hired them after choosing from around 20-25 available. Some were busy, some didn't quite satisfy our curiosity, some were too expensive. This choice proved to be right one! As amateur photographer I try to get something better than I could.
