Empowering & Educating Children Through Active & Creative PLAYOur mission is to empower and educate children through active and creative play. Our current focus is in Malawi, Africa. In 2015 we purchased 13 acres of land in the Lilongwe area of Malawi and have completed the community center, volunteer guest house along with a few smaller buildings. The sports court is almost complete and the sports field will begin in May 2018. Kusewera Village now hosts a nursery school and kindergarten for over 125 2/3 and 4/5 year-olds as well as after school programs for primary and secondary children. We organize activities such as sports, dance, music, art and more! This sustainable year-round after-school program empowers the children to learn, laugh and play. We hope to empower the children to pursue goals, dream for a better future and be positive leaders in their communities. We also create affordable humanitarian service trips for people of all walks of life, so that they can personally help implement the Kusewera Empowerment & Education Program (K.E.E.P.). We host other groups and individuals from all over the world and encourage anyone to apply to volunteer, and in turn, gain valuable perspective while making a long term difference in the lives of the children. Kusewera's goals:• Education – the children learn life skills such as leadership, discipline, perseverance, goal-setting, sportsmanship, teamwork, focus, and healthy living. etc.• Empowerment – Giving these children the ability to see possibilities they haven't ever thought of, dreaming for a better future and showing them that they have a choice to make a difference in their community.• Encouragement – When a child can see, feel and know that someone cares, they strive to do better and be better.
