KWATHU RESIDENTIAL CARE (KRC) is a local charity institution that was conceived in 2014 out of orphan hood experience coupled with passionate goodwill of the idea generator to innovatively support the needy children orphans in particular as the core business with additional focus on vulnerable youth livelihoods. In Malawian native language “Chichewa”, “KWATHU” means “My Home”. The organization aims at restoring hope of survival, capability and productiveness to the deserted and deprived children from rural remotest areas for their existence as productive national and global citizens and future leaders.
The organization strives towards kindly supporting the target needy beneficiaries in a manner that sees them receive the fully deserved support that eventually empowers them with sustainable economic independence and productivity as global citizens and future leaders.
KRC’s current activities include; education support with resources such as Clothes, school fees, shoes, bathing and washing soap received from well-wishers, Empowerment sessions, Global Citizenship training sessions and basic entrepreneurship skills trainings delivered by volunteers.
The organization currently operates on a small-scale outreach basis without appropriate structures.
KRC runs an on-going program “Sustaining Orphans’ Welfare for Productive Independence (SOWEPI)” on outreach basis and seeks funding for its program operations.
