" DON’T BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM HARVEY NORMAN.
I’ve purchased a Windows Surface from Harvey Norman with an extended warranty, The device alone cost me about 3060 ringgit whereas the warranty cost me some 629 ringgit.
After some time of use, the screen of my device was damaged. I was quoted 2.2k just to repair the screen which is about two-thirds the price of the actual device. I refused to pay at this first instance because it is just ridiculous. Further, my device was completely functioning
Subsequently, the wifi function of my device is damaged which rendered the device completely unusable. When I send my device back to Harvey Norman for the repair, HN told me the device is impossible to repair because it is no longer covered under the warranty.
This is according to their extended warranty department, Anthony Lee and Kelvin Tan.
Their salespeople has no qualms about pushing and selling their extended warranty, which we City Folk, buy because we buy the insurance to make sure that things are insured.
What good is to buy insurance if the firm defaults in taking responsibility? Harvey Norman is one of the most dishonest organisation, with the worst staff.
I will never buy anything from this company anymore! "

" Sales wise, I was treated good, but when it comes to customer service (as I needed to send my product for repair,under warranty), they really need to be more responsible. its been five days since I tried to obtain info on my product, but nobody picks up my call except for this one time, and they passed me around and in the end, the line just went dead. I called again and again but nobody picks up. I was so pissed, and still am. "
