The capulana, a local sarong in Mozambique was the initial inspiration for opening Ladella in Tete Mozambique, a home decor and accessories shop where one can buy items such as scatter cushions, quilts, placemats, aprons and many other home decor items made from the fabric. To add variety I work with local artists and AFAPCOM in Tete and the region to create quality products in various mediums such as wooden art, designer baskets, tree lights from lala palms, tin lanterns, aluminium items and much more. AFAPCOM is a well run organisation that was started by two Mozambiquans in 2009 who had a vision to assist the many orphans by teaching them life skills. Ladella works closely with the organisation to give them new ideas and direction and by providing an outlet for their products.
Ladella also specializes in customised cane furniture of which the Malawi chair in the colour of your choice is the most popular, wooden furniture, ie four poster beds, bulk orders in linen for corporate and mines, mosquito nets and frames and customised blinds and curtains.
