Yesterday we had the welcome home party of Dakar Speed rally team and get the feedback on the engine first hand. Engine did not miss a beat, great power and torque even on hi altitude where oxygen is low, no turbo lag or power losses but how can this be that’s we where among the best on engine performance?

Most tunes go old school by starting go big on things respecting max engine displacement and inlet retricktor size of the turbo that is. If you start big you will end up bi...g as well and not only on engine power but also on heat production, fuel consumption and big time needed to resolve heat related problems but looks like the tuning industries likes it that way as big sells and is maybe less boring.

I like to do things form the engineering site if things. lets try to burn fuel more efficient by burning it all in the combustion chamber in the engine trying to hit that last spot of oxygen left in the cylinder needing less air to do the same job and in all this gives an engine a lower hear signature and less cooling needed so able do downsize there as well. Ok hang on things will get hot on the exhaust side of things if you do not have oxygen left? Well yes that was the old days when that happened on older generation of diesel engine but things have improved so why not use it, trick is to burn it all in time and not using the exhaust system to complete combustion. Get it? Are these modern engines that easy to get more power out of them. NO it took us some time to heat things up and get some exhaust flow out of these engines to get the turbocharger working for us but we seem to master it well by using the latest low inertia small size turbo chargers that deliver a ton of air compared to there size. Also loads of software setting on the engine management system are able to heat up things and spool up turbochargers when needed for that short duration of time but what works well on a small engine like in a rally car dos not work on bigger engines with a larger bore diameter as for to easy to blow out the candle not getting any combustion out of it so in all critical on settings but not implausible and very rewording and also proven very reliable.

Het gaat hier om een volledig elektronische motor en optioneel kunnen we deze motor compleet met motormanagement en turbo voor U opbouwen.
