PUBLIC RELEASE – Women’s AFL Nauru Competition 2019 MATCH RESULTS & LADDER

Women's Footy is well and truly underway. Although the weather has not been favorable of our women's competition since round 1, there has been no signs of slowing our girls down. It has been a full on, exciting, tough and successful season so far! We are now approaching our final rounds of the season and we're all so excited to see which teams finish on top of our ladder. At this stage Boe Lioness are... our hot favorites leading into the finals with the Mighty Carlton girls right behind them. The next two weeks will determine who will take home the first ever Women's premiership cup!!

History has been made in Nauru as the first-ever official women’s AFL competition kicked off on Saturday 20th of October 2019 with eight teams competing at Linkbelt Oval.

A record breaking number of girls have registered for our official AFL Nauru women’s competition on the weekend. It was a fantastic outcome and a proud achievement for AFL Nauru and the country. In the past women were always the most enthusiastic supporters of men's footy, now they get to wear their distric...t colours and run onto the field to show us what they’ve got! And it didn’t disappoint! There was some big hits, very courageous and entertaining footy! Looking forward to round 2, bring it on girls!!

**PUBLIC RELEASE** Nauru Chiefs 60 man training squad.

Leading towards the 2020 International cup, AFL Nauru have announced the 2019 Nauru Chiefs. Training will now commence and a try out period of 6 months will be in place, Coach Mathew Batsiua will determine the 32 players who will be representing Nauru in the 2020 International Cup.

AUSKICK POSTPONED

We have had to postpone our Auskick program today due to bad weather and flooded oval. Rehab will be occupying the oval this afternoon to flush out the water in preparation to tomorrow’s grand finals. We apologise for any convenience caused.

Auskick will be held next Friday 27th September from 4pm onwards. Please contact our Auskick coordinator George on 5583373 for more information.

AUSKICK IS BACK AFL Nauru will be running an Auskick session for all U11 boys and girls participants this coming Friday 20 September 2019 at Linkbelt oval from 4pm onwards.

There will be Auskick goodies to give away for all participants that register, all boys and girls are welcome to join the fun! Special Guest umpires for the 2019 Senior Grand Finals will be conducting some fun games for the afternoon so don't miss out!!
