" Wonderful place to visit and tour if you appreciate historic places. Beautiful architecture and interesting history lesson to go along with the tour. We got to walk through the catacombs below. Not huge but neat to experience. Take the time to stop here! "

" The church was not open to visit inside.
Pleasant atmosphere outside feeding pigeons with corn. Beautiful cathedral! "

" Imagine paying a fortune to be buried under this church under the pretense of being closer to God but then centuries later they just dig you up and put your bones in a circle for the amusement of gringo tourists... Unique experience, if you go to Cusco it pairs well with visiting Qorikancha which focuses more on the Incan elements in Peruvian Catholicism whereas this is more about the Church. Guide is included with admission which is a big plus. "

" In 2014, we went on a guided tour of this church. A highlight was getting to see the dark catacombs where 25,000 people have been buried. Bones and skulls were on display, some on massive piles, some displayed decoratively. "

" We visited to see the catacombs after a walking tour of Lima. Well worth the hour or so we spent there. A bit creepy seeing so many real skeletons but the experience was certainly authentic. "

" The history here is undeniable. Added onto and destroyed partially as the town grew into a city, you'll find a ridiculous amount of artifacts from the Spanish conquest of the Incas.

Pizzaros balcony is here.
Bones of the conquistadors, priests, lawmakers..

All here.

The best room is the library where the Franciscan monks stored their book.

There's no way to get a picture, and the handmade, scribed and bound books are deteriorating in the open and humid atmosphere.

It's like stepping back in time when you walk in. You can smell the must and slowly aging paper and animal skins used in the production of these masterpieces.

See it before they are gone. "
