MONKAYO COLLEGE OF ARTS, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Thru the initiative of HON. REMIGIO T. SALDUA, the Monkayo College of Arts, Science and Technology established on August 19, 2008 pursuant to Municipal Ordinance No. 21- 2008 as the newest local college in Region XI, authorized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to operate on June 11, 2009 . It is a non- sectarian college established and operated by the Local Government of Monkayo.
It has contributed immensely to the poor but deserving students of the populace which is now in its Third Year of operation.
MonCAST offers Three (3) Programs namely, the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and the teacher education, Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) and the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd).
MonCAST now holds office and its first year classes at its main campus at Purok 6, Poblacion, Monkayo. It has a total land areas of 2.9 hectares initially built with a 9- classroom building and Administrative building.
A new college canteen has been completed and just operated last January 2011 and a budget of 1.4 million pesos for new speech lab and computer laboratory building will be implemented by the 3rd quarter of Calendar Year 2011.
MonCAST now has its 30 official Part- time and Full- Time Instructors.
The incumbent Local Officials of Monkayo under the administration of Mayor Manuel B. Brillantes, Jr. firmly believe that EDUCATION is the only KEY to address poverty by offering a variety of opportunities and the development of Knowledge, Attitudes and Skills (KAS) of people, thus, effecting a much better quality of life.
